Step by Step Training for Starting Your Own Business
Starting your own
business is a basic part of the American dream and it can
be personally and financially rewarding if you plan ahead
and arm your self against the inevitable pitfalls and problems
that can occur.
Today
you can have a business that is "traditional"
as in business before the Internet was so prominent in our
lives,or one that is solely on the internet. Either way,
starting your own business is the same process.
Some
of the advantages for an Internet based home business include:
- Less
initial financial outlay for equipment, property, buildings,
and parking.
-
Give your
customers the information and service they want instantly,
without loosing sleep,
- Keep
your business open 24 hours around the world
- Set your
own dress code.
My
suggestion is to combine both traditional and internet based
businesses. Living in rural Alaska offers the unique situation
of not having a large local market, and not always having
access to the internet either. For that reason I've found
that combining the two offers the best chance for an income
year around.
Step
One: What does it take to have a successful business?
Is a Homebased Business for you?
Step
Two: Is
your business Feasible?
Can it make money? Do
the research, run the numbers and use the information
for writing your Business Plan.
Step
Three:
Plan your Business
all parts of your business. You wouldn't start
a trip or vacation without a plan. Give your business
a better chance of profitability by spending the time
to write your Business Plan. This is an easy simple
Business plan, that can be used for loan applications
and annual business monitoring.
Step
Four.
Start your Business.
Ok so you have a plan, you've crunched the numbers and
found that it should make money. Now you're ready to start.
This training starts with getting your business license,
and includes getting a bank account, software, establishing
your internet presence and setting up your home office.
Step
Five:
Market
your Business.
Successfully marketing your business is a 3 step process.
(1) Create plan identifying your product/service and potential
customers and the strategy to reach them. (2) Advertise
to your target market (3) Follow up to keep the customers
you have.
Today's
society is a very social one, with facebook, twitter and
a dozen other programs. Use that interest in your marketing
by borrowing from the MLM or Network Marketing
techniques.
Step
Six:
Manage
your business.
Once your business is established, you need to make sure
it continues to grow. A business, like many things, is always
moving, if it's not going forward it's going backwards.
Good management will keep it going the way you want it to.
